Here the public has the ability to interactively look up information on digitally processed maps such as zoning, property boundaries, tax assessment, ownership records, sewer hookups, demographics, flood zones, and much more.
The City's goal has been to provide greater access to greater amounts of information. For some time, the GIS has been available for licensing to sophisticated users. Landscape architects, Land-use Attorneys and Real Estate Appraisers have a clear need for GIS. However others like business owners and Advertising Executives have found GIS to be a useful tool to analyze neighborhood maps for demographic information in determining where to locate a new store, and to tap information for target marketing.
For a more detailed information on other geographic features, please be free to look what the City and County of Honolulu, Department of Planning and Permitting has to offer.
