The Plan's vision seeks to preserve the region's country character by preserving agricultural land and open space, to support small town values, and reflect a land use pattern that reflects the use of the ahupuaa concept as a tool for physical and resource planning.

WAIANAE SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES PLAN (adopted July 2000)

WAIANAE SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES PLAN - UPDATE PROGRAM
A public hearing by the Planning Commission was held on February 16, 2011. A continuation of the Planning Commission public hearing was held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, 1:30 p.m., at Kapolei Hale, Conference Rooms A and B, 1000 Uluohia Street. The Planning Commission voted to close the public hearing on that date.
Planning Commission met on Monday, May 16, 2:00 p.m., 9th Floor Conference Room, Fasi Municipal Building, 650 South King Street. The Planning Commission was not able to pass a motion. The Plan will be forwarded to the City Council without a recommendation.

Bill 50 (2011), adopting the revised Waianae Sustainable Communities Plan passed First Reading on August 17, 2011.

A special meeting of the Committee on Zoning and Planning to consider Bill 50 (2011), amending the Waianae Sustainable Communities Plan was held on Thursday, September 8, 2011, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Nanaikapono Elementary School Cafeteria.

UPDATE: Bill 50 (2011), CD1, passed Second Reading and Public Hearing on November 2, 2011 at a City Council meeting held at Kapolei Hale.
